Vivian Miare
I would say Vivian Miare is one of my favourite artist, and also the photographer who gives me much inspirations when I write my contextual review. Vivian loved photography for her whole live, she has taken over 10 thousand amazing street live photos while being a nanny as her main job. Vivian used camera to capture every streets of New York and different people’s appearence, as a photographer, she did not present or show any of her works to public until it was discovered after her death, which became one of the important street photographer in America. I believe she didn’t wanted to be famous or did not care about what others thought about her work, she’s just enjoying it, so she did not choose to be a photographer as her main job, but a nanny, which this is something that I appreciate the most of, from her works I feel full of enjoyment and freeness.

I
In order of creating my piece based on the project white piece, Ive visited Tate modern to seeking for ideas and get inspired. Different white spaces re used in different works, for example these two are just simply presenting the literal meaning as using white paint, fabrics, plaster to create a piece showing texture, highlight, shadow and space.
This piece is then more using the negative space as using white space to set off the other colours, to give a visual impact on the fluidity of the whole piece.
The light is also a helpful resource to create different space, which giving more contrast of light and shadow, the bright and darkness.

After watching the whole movie, compare to the trailer the actual movie present a slower pace of showing Joker’s inner feelings, the depress, aggressive, mania, hopeless, that keat on calling the other character who was living in his body (joker) to come out and act. Other than that I also feel the political movement in it as showing the social classes between people that is poor and rich, between different jobs and educations, there is a kind of stereotype in it, and which in the movie has lead people to all dress up as joker. The whole movie is quit violence and bloodiness, it really takes me into that mood, and feel the pain and the hopeless, which I would say I did not like it really much but I would say it is a good movie as it makes the audience to feel the mood and resonate with it. From a more technical point of view, many scenes was shoot with great angle, lighting, each props and characters were put in reasonable places to make each scene like a photograph.

Talking about this, it reminds me of another movie that is presenting the same concept of movie from Korea, also showing the social class difference, and end up with violence, as how pressure, pride and shame lead them to crazy . However, the most different thing about this social and political movie is, It’s a movie that satirizes the poor, but many people think that they are crying for the poor.

Inspiration-My Box
From last week we start on our project of using different materials of light conducting paper to give different effect, patterns and filters. After creating it we can make a stop motion short clip in order of presenting something, as it can be a effect or a story, but must include a alphabet letter in the clip. For the first box that I made I wasn't too happy with it as it don't have a theme, and I don't know what am I trying to communicate with. Base on that I started making my second box after looking at Yayoi Kusama's work, so I added a sheets that was drew with different colours of spots and using a reflecting paper to increase the amount of the dots to give a visual effect. For my stop motion clips I was inspired when I saw the trailer of "JOKER"'s movie, and it reminds me to give the clip a scene of horror, and playful clips.

Making meaning research
“TETSUYA ISHIDA” (16/6/1973-23//5/2005)
Tetsuya is a visual communication artist, who depict and satirist the uneasiness that is hidden in our everyday life through surrealistic expressions. I love his work is simply because of it resonate with me, in his work he combines him self with the object that surround us in daily life, he enlarge the depress, the pressure he get from the surroundings, that makes people feel the pain, the loneliness and the sense of restraint.
In his work teenagers in Japan are so bonded with school, with study, with our future. In most of the asian countries students do not have the right to speak up against a teacher, that caused a lot of suicide from age 14-22 young boys/girls, when we are in school we think a-lot, about everything that could happen after graduate, mostly not positive, but panic.
One of the most famous piece before Tatsuya passed out at age 31, “THE LOST PERSON”. It is a incomplete map that was grained as a tattoo on tatsuya’s body, he could not fully read the map so he became the person who’s lost in his life. The map has recorded the location that he should be, or in another word, the place he want to go back to, If he successfully read the map then Tatsuya should have know where he come from, and where is the final destination. No one told us who we are, we find out ourself by our own “map”, from the pain we take, from the experience we had during our life time.

Library induction
oday's library catalogue search I've enter the key word of "old" and comes up with the books: "boom saloon", "blue blooded', and "Nike Chronicle" which contains the related content. the first three image are all presented as a vintage, vintage shows, coat and denim, they are all presented really rough, with some part of hole and blemish, obvious showing it is something that has been kept for along time ago. The reason of chosen the pictures is because it has fill up curiosity, in order of presenting how is denim made, the process, material and the use of different blue denim colours, how were the Nike shoes designed to be comfortable and light weight, how many styles did it produced, hence looking at the old military leather coat as what is the fashion style at that certain time. The other half of the 6 pictures are all photos taken in the book "boom saloon", again all photos were taken with film camera and in black and white, giving the image a smell of time, and captured the moment. More of the reason is because of my own personal interests to photography and also with the film cameras, as I've just start it a few months ago, each of the photo tells a different story, and the use of the composition are all attraction point for me.
Prayers For bobby
Prayers for bobby is a movie that I watched a year ago, it is a true story about a deeply religious suburban housewife and mother who struggles to accept her son’s homosexuality. As bobby's mother and his whole family has a deep believe in Christian and raised bobby with a conservative religious perspective, bobby felt guilty all his life and did not get his mothers understand and love until the end of his life.
This Movie has made me thought of the idea of white space and purify souls, talking about religions, personally Im not believed in any religion, however in the movie, Bobby's mother thought her son has lost his 'purify heart', even bobby is always being so kind to everybody around him. Based on this I made a few drawings just to reflect the 'purify souls', just to imagine how will people looks like when they leave the world, coming out of their body, I believe it is very blurry but still able to see the shape of it, and I believe most of people holds a kind heart and purify soul.

Nam June Paik
Nam June Paik played a leading role in riding the gap between art and technology, he always innovative and encompassed a variety of artistic genres, in his gallery there is many works presented from sculpture and performance to music and live broadcasting. To make it personal, Nam June Paik has added many religion and beliefs into his works. In his work, my favourite one is the TV garden, he imagined a future landscape where technology is an integral part of the natural world, Placing Tv sets alongside live plants, like in a forest or a jungle. The work has suggested that technology is not in conflict with nature but an extension of the human realm.
Reaser-Poster inspirations
Yayoi Kusama ( 22 March 1929)
Yayoi was a Japanese contemporary artist who creates art using dots in varies ways. "I convert the energy of life, into dots of the universe." All the patterns she created with dots seems very attractive to me, she won't make any draft but just start it straight away, the dots can be big or small, can be played in any shape, pattern and colours, using up the surface not just on the paper, but on the object, the room, the floor even on herself or the models. Getting inspirations from her work I created my own photoshoots for the poster using the text "when I discover who I am, I will be free". As trying the same method of start my art creation straight away by not using the pen, but the play dough.

Shujiro Shimomura
Shujiro Shimura was a graphic dessineer and also a illustrator who create posters that with a new styles of graphic design as social change rippled through the nation in Japan 20th century. The most famous work are the poster below. (1982)
i
As a poster, it really attracts me through the use of colour the warm colour, the choice of it is very simple, and creating a strong contrast to the background. The wobble lines in the background also made the poster more interesting as also leading the focus point towards the middle.
Again also the poster that was created In 20th century's japan 1982, by Kurazo Murota, with a same set of colours and lines, figures and patterns. In these two examples it is more leading me to think about the posters is more like a representative for Japan, something that is more cultural based.

Inspiration-Drawing to Print
Harriet Brigdale
Hrriet was a student of Chelsea in the past, her work is mostly based on prints, Lino, mono, etching etc. From her works I see it is more presenting a story telling, each print she made with Lino has showed a sense of the fun and joy of childlike innocence, as her works uses more rounded and irregular shapes, colours are more bright and natural, liking the candy colours. The pattern has also being well used that its not too full, messy.

Drawing into print research
LIZ CLIMO
Liz Climo was famous for her cartoon character's illustrations, which each slides present a cute short stories that was presented in a fairly simple way. Taking inspiration from her creation, I created my own characters which is a Evil cactus and a normal little person. To take on the working mode of simplicity I made my own version of short story "My love with a cactus", which is about the person fells in love with the cactus but the cactus swallowed the person and take all water from the body. This is inspired as searching for cactus's feature which is stores water.
Liz Climo uses simple colours in each of the stories, which is very harmony with the short sentences that was put on the scene, each slides creates a warm lively mood.
